Diffusion Cloud Chamber
Also known as the Wilson chamber, is used for detecting particles of ionizing radiation. In its most basic form, a cloud chamber is a sealed environment containing a super cooled -supersaturated water vapor. You must provide ethanol or methanol light source (a strong flashlight will do), liquid nitrogen or dry ice and a plastic dish or paper plate lined with plastic. When an alpha particle or beta particle interacts with the mixture, it ionizes it.
